I have an Associate degree in Digital Photography. I know what you are thinking ¿why I majored in photography? I can explain,
One thing that I love and enjoy is photographing people. I consider myself, the people’s photographer.

Crafting visual stories through the lens since 2010

With over a decade of experience, I’ve been capturing the art of photography since 2010. As a Minneapolis-based photographer, my journey began with an Associate degree in Digital Imaging from Minneapolis Community and Technical College. My foundation in film photography, combined with a deep passion for digital innovation, has shaped my unique perspective. Each step of the way, I've embraced the learning process, honing my craft to deliver compelling, evocative imagery that speaks to the heart of my subjects.

A Story of Passion and Perseverance

There were five key moments that guided me on the path to becoming a photographer. The first spark ignited when I bought my first-generation iPhone. I had spent my entire McDonald’s paycheck on it, and I quickly became obsessed with capturing the world around me through its tiny lens. The ability to freeze moments in time fascinated me and opened a new realm of possibilities.

The second pivotal moment was an after-school graphic design class where I first played around with Photoshop. A simple portrait of myself became the canvas for my digital exploration. This introduction to photo editing transformed my view of photography from mere snapshots to a form of expressive art. Growing up, I never saw Latino photographers who excelled with the camera or produced awe-inspiring photographs in the latino Community. This absence in my community inspired me to fill that gap. I wanted to be the photographer who brought amazing photos to life, reflecting the beauty and strength of my heritage.

I was born in Mexico and raised in Minneapolis, MN. Being undocumented and brought to the USA at the age of one presented numerous challenges and limited options after high school. The conventional paths were not accessible to me, so I decided to carve my own. I realized that becoming my own boss would not only empower me but also serve my community, which was in dire need of a great photographer.

My decision to pursue photography seriously led me to college, where I studied the craft in depth. It was here that I truly fell in love with the art. Learning to use my camera was a transformative experience. Photography was no longer just about overcoming struggles; it became a profound love for art and life. Interacting with people, meeting new faces, and capturing their stories became my passion.

This journey from an iPhone enthusiast to a professional photographer has been filled with learning, challenges, and growth. It’s a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. Through my lens, I aim to capture the beauty, resilience, and spirit of the people and communities that inspire me every day.
